This weekend its our famous Belgian Metal fest called Graspop Metal Meeting. What better way to warm up for this 4 day metal bonanza then with Dutch metal project Mayan. 

Mayan (stylized as MaYaN) is a Dutch symphonic death metal band founded by vocalist Mark Jansen, keyboardist Jack Driessen and guitarist Frank Schiphorst. The name of the band was chosen by Jansen out of his fascination for the ancient Maya civilization. We all know mark from his main band Epica and previously from After Forever. 

There are many youtube video's to be found from mayan. But i chose this one because its a live performance of a previous passage on Graspop. I felt it was really fitting. Another plus is "Bite The Bullet" is an amazingly strong song. And as a guest they had the amazing dutch vocalist Floor Jansen. She is widly regarded as one of the best female vocalists in the metal world. She is known from stellar performances in her previous bands After Forever, ReVamp, a host of guest performances and now Nightwish.  So this is the perfect warmup for a weekend of metal madness.
