Tilo Wolff is one of the gothfathers on the current gothic scene.
With his main band Lacrimosa the Swiss musician been a reliable and prolific centerpiece for more than two decades with an impressive back catalogue and and an ever present festival attendance. Apart from that he’s also got his own label Hall of Sermon that gives a forum not only to his own releases but also newer bands. Sometimes he even finds time to compose music that doesn’t really fit into the typical symphonic rock that Lacrimosa has adopted. Snakeskin is such a side project that marries subtle electronics, pop melodies and an at times almost sacral Dead can Dance sensibility, particularly invoked by the seductive operatic vocals It is probably partly associatively induced by the sensual artwork that once more accompanies their third album, but the songs are permeated by a darkly erotic vibe that resonates both in the catchiness of the songs and its classical grandeur.
