Magnus Pelander, the lead singer of Witchcraft, started his own solo project Pelander. His first album was released on the 14th of October, 2016.
It takes you back in time to the old, golden years. The Album gives you a clear sound, yet the music doesn’t reach as deep as expected. It has a lot of soul, but it kinda missis the skill to deliver the message.
With mainly a guitar and a warm voice, you can accomplish a lot. It’s an album you would play when you’re sitting in front of a fire place, together with some friends and family. Maybe some alcohol and some snacks, but the talk would probably take over and the music would fade into the background.
It’s a rather short album, that doesn’t quite get to me. It’s like there is something there, but it doesn’t reach me for a 100%. ‘Precious Swan’ came close with a very strong instrumental part that did make you stop talking, but a few minutes later that feeling went away, unfortunately.
