Inner Blast are a female fronted metal band from Portugal, bringing traditional goth/sympho metal. While they are energetic, they do tap from all the overused ingredients of the style: operatic vocals, harpischord-ish keyboards, some growls for a beauty-and-the-beast effect and emo lyrics.
Prophecy is not a bad album, and the energy this band brings is refreshing. But with that said, there is still a lot (A LOT) of room for improvement. The vocalist's pronunciation and articulation are a disaster. The recording quality is terrible. The overall quality of the album is very unbalanced. Yes, there are moments of inspiration, but there are also a lot of moments that make my toes curl in horror.
To conclude: Prophecy shows that Inner Blast have potential and lots of positive energy, but they still have a long way to go, and the current album left me with mixed feelings.
