Unity in Pluralism is the third album of the German melodic death metal band Burial Vault. And right from the beginning I need to say that this album is meant to mark their international breakthrough.
Think old At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity, and you know you are in for a treat with Burial Vault. Add the depth of social-critical lyrics, and you know you have something special. This and more is what you can find on Unity in Pluralism.
The highlights of this album are “Tempestas”, with its impressive variety in vocal work, and “The Desired Destination”, which has the emotional power of some of the best Dark Tranquillity work. On Unity in Pluralism, Burial Vault show that they are masters in suspense lines.
If you consider yourself a death metal fan, Unity in Pluralism is an album you can't miss. I'm hoping that with this album Burial Vault will work their way to the top levels of the international death metal scene. They absolutely deserve more attention.
