Clash of the Titans
The Dutch extreme metal scene is doing great. Not only has it recently seen the return of the likes of Altar and God Dethroned, but also Ramon Ploeg from the defunct Houwitser has found a new musical outlet in the dark metal band Bleeding Gods. After their debut ‘Shepherd of Souls’ they signed a deal with Nuclear Blast for their soon to be released sophomore album, ‘Dodekathlon’.
Anneke Van Giersbergen has been a personal favorite ever since she joined The Gathering way back in 1995, a time when a girl taking front stage in a metal band was far less common than nowadays.
Edguy just released their new album ‘Monuments’, celebrating 25 years of Edguy. I talked to lead guitarist Jens Ludwig about the album and the journey he has experienced with Edguy.

Interview Funeralium
4 years after ‘Deceived Idealism’ French extreme doom acolytes Funeralium have unleashed their newest opus ‘Of Throes and Blight’, for which they just had their release show in Tilburg last Saturday.
A couple of years ago Imandain was a promising new addition to the British death doom scene until they all but vanished some 7 years ago. Then out of the blue comes this new EP that holds some of the strongest material they’ve yet written.
