Holy Headbanger, Arch enemy dropped a new song on the world. And it is super awesome! When i came across the track on a random youtube voyage, my armhairs stood straight up. That's how good it is. That's why i deciced to make it to a Spotlight entry.
This weekend its our famous Belgian Metal fest called Graspop Metal Meeting. What better way to warm up for this 4 day metal bonanza then with Dutch metal project Mayan.
Yes you read that right, this band is called Fleddy Melculy. no spelling mistakes, no typo's. This Belgian collective has been making music and albums for a few years already. Providing no nonsense plain straightforward metal with catchy lyrics, and they do sing in Dutch. For Belgians they don't need an introduction at all but for others out there they are probably new. So a few days ago they just dropped their new single on the net.
We have already done may pieces about Myrkur. Including several albums and an interview. But afterwards the one woman project of Danish Amalie Bruun slided a bit to the back of our minds. That all changed on Wacken 2016.
We all know Eluveitie, it is by far one of my favorite bands in the folk/pagan spectrum. And they pack an unbelievable punch in liveshows. When i hear songs from them my hair regularly raises straight up because the music "hits" you so deep.
I can hear you thinking, Amy Lee? Yes, remember her? The lead singer of Evanescence has long ago put the band on indefinite hiatus. But she has still kept on producing content of her own. She has released a soundtrack album 2 years ago called "Aftermath". But up until very recently we have not heard anything of this beautiful lady.
Sure watching anime is fun in itself and often looked down upon by some. But it is an excellent tool to discover some very nice quality music.
Some anime's even include superb metal(ish) music. Thats why i chose Fairy Tail's soundtrack('s) as inspiration for this SL.
