As everyone is waking up today, and read their morning newspapers with a pint of beer or his morning coffee. We have all seen the Paris terror hits of last night. And we are all saddend by this unnecessary violence. 8 targets where hit, one of them being a concert gathering of our fellow metalfriends for Eagles of Death Metal. This is a very sad day for the metalscene and for the French people in general.

I can hear you thinking, Amy Lee? Yes, remember her? The lead singer of Evanescence has long ago put the band on indefinite hiatus. But she has still kept on producing content of her own. She has released a soundtrack album 2 years ago called "Aftermath". But up until very recently we have not heard anything of this beautiful lady.

For me it was the first time going to a concert instead of a festival. But hey, there’s a first time for everything right? My trip started out with missing my train, which forced me to take another train which made me into my old classmate. That shows that every bad thing, also has a good side. So, after my train trip to Antwerp, I took the tram to Trix. On the website itself it already says which tram or bus you have to take and at which stop you have to get off. I took the tram, got off at ‘Hof ter Lo’ and walked 2 minutes to Trix. There was already a waiting line in front of the door, which wasn’t really necessary because you could still get to the front easily if you came to the show later.

Yesterday Graspop already announced that Iron Maiden was going to be the headliner for Sunday, June 19th. Today (only one day later) Graspop announced 28 more names.

The Japanese label Weird Truth has a knack for finding obscure, but original doom metal. Amongst others they’ve released albums for Profetus, Funeralium and Mournful Congregation. Once and a while they don’t need to like so far like in the superb Funeral Moth or on their latest discovery Lifeblood. Darkview tried to find out what runs through the veins of this newcomers.
